Pooches & Planes @ Bolingbrook Clow International Airport
Welcome to the Pooches & Planes sign up area for EAA Chapter 461's fundraiser on October 4th, 2025 hosted at Clow International Airport (1C5) in Bolingbrook, IL!
Here's how it works!
Pick a time slot that works best for you and your pooch at the below link. Once you have selected a time and hit 'next' you will be taken to a series of questions you will need to answer. Questions like "Does your pooch know the 'sit' AND 'stay' command and do they know it well?" and "Will you be bringing your own airplane?"
When those questions are answered, you will be prompted to proceed to the payment section. There is a nonrefundable $20 deposit to hold your timeslot. You will be given the option to just pay the deposit now and pay the remainder at a later date before the shoot on October 4th or pay in full in now. Either way you go, we ask that payment be made complete by October 4th. Reminder emails will be sent to those who choose to pay in full at a later time.
If you are bringing your own aircraft (whether towing it or flying in) there will be a staging area that volunteers will help guide you to upon your arrival. A check in area will be present for all participants to make a stop at to sign waivers and give some info on the model pooches! PLEASE keep your dogs on their leashes AT ALL TIMES unless it is their time to be photographed. We ask that you be respectful of other pooches around you, aircraft, and the airport grounds by cleaning up after the stars of the show and also keeping them at a safe distance from one another.
Each time slot is for 20 minutes. No more. No less. We cannot stress ENOUGH that dogs participating in this shoot must know the 'sit' & 'stay' command and be able to perform these commands with a lot of distractions. There will be flashing lights, airplanes running, other dogs and people moving. Photographer and volunteers will do their best at helping and posing your pooch, but if they are restless it will be very difficult to get good shots. Please do a few practice runs with them leading up to this, it really does help! (Note, if we haven’t said it enough : It is IMPERATIVE that your pooch know the ‘sit’ and ‘stay’ command!! Dogs that cannot do both of these will NOT be guaranteed good images!) Once the photo shoot day is complete, pooches and their owners will receive 5 professional and high quality edited images in their e-mail inbox within a few weeks.
If inclement weather becomes a factor, a rain date of the following day October 5th, 2025 is set. We will keep all participants posted if that should become an issue.
Then the real fun begins!
At the photographer's discretion, 1 of the 5 images will be placed into a photo voting contest and opened to the public to submit their votes. $1 = 1 vote. We ask all participants to get in on the action and SHARE, SHARE, SHARE their own pooch on their own social media to get votes! Share with your friends, your family, your coworkers, fellow pilots, fellow EAA Chapters in other states, just share! The top 13 earning dogs will win a place in a professionally printed calendar. The top earner will win the cover of the calendar and the remaining 12 will each get assigned to their own month. Their name and small bio will also be placed into the calendar under their photo. When voting is complete, notices will be sent out to when calendars will be available for purchase.
Calendars will be sold at $25 a piece and will be in limited supply.
